Map of proposed Heath railway station alterations, This photo is of a large scale original plan which was drawn up by the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway (MS&LR) aroun 1892 as part of its proposals to extend its line to Annesley. The MS&LR then extended its line into Nottingham and onwards to London (Marylebone) and changed its name to the Great Central.Of interest is that the original road appears to have been relocated to the position that we know today, leaving the railway cottages at the top in the cul de sac arrangement that they will be most remembered.

You will see it is boarded up so dates after 1963 when passenger services finished. The station yard was covered in tickets and paper after it had closed.
