Died 1 day before his
brother Joseph Bicknell. He was an officer
servant to Lieut-Col J. G. Megison. Pre war
occupation was a miner at the Clay Cross Company
Avenue Pit. Had previously served with the
Grenadier Guards in South Africa, and was a
reservist for 3 years prior to WW1, Joined
the Leicestershire Regiment on the outbreak of
war. He was the goalkeeper for the Tupton
Ivanhoe Football Club. |
