NOTES

Brewery The main brewery to own or control the pub, with later changes brought about by take-overs.

Full Licence – Old style licence, pub able to sell all forms of beer, wines and spirits. Most of these are the oldest pubs.

Beerhouse Licence – Introduced by the Beerhouse Act of 1830, the pub was only able to sell beer and cider. Most of these licences were upgraded, on application, to a Full Licence in the 1940’s and 50’s. With a beerhouse licence, therefore, the pub could not have existed before 1930.
